Front Calipers

Hi all, lots of useful posts in this great forum. Had my 59-plate Tuono R for 2 years now. Most fun I've ever had on 2 wheels. I'm doing some pre-season maintenance and want to give callipers a thorough clean. Rear is easy but struggling with front. Workshop manual suggests simply unbolt calliper and slide off the disc. However, I cannot get calliper to clear disc before it fouls the wheel rim. How on earth do you get the front callipers off?

You do NOT need to take the pads out to take the calipers off.
Remove the mounting bolts, and then just twist them gently against the disc.
The pistons will then be pushed back into the caliper, and they will come off no probs.
