Front brake vibration

I have recently bought a 2006 mille r, under hard braking i get a judder from the front.

I ran a permanent maker round the discs today, span the wheel and there is a tight spot which rubbed the marker of half of the offside disc.

The buttons on the disc are all solid, i have read about freeing them off but i spoke to someone at aprilia today and they said the brembo discs have riveted buttons and shouldn't turn?

Do i need new discs?

I am not sure to go with the £170 for a single brembo to replace the warped one.
or £170 for a pair of the now standard sunstar discs.

Any help appreciated.

What's important is not whether the buttons turn it's whether they allow the disc to float. You should be able to move the disc a little at each button, if not then they are sticking.

Grip the disc next to each button and try and move the disc in and out and see if it's stuck at any of them. if you have a rubber mallet or similar give each button a tap which can free them up but not so hard that you bend them. Then flush them out with wd40 or similar. (clean disc off with brake cleaner etc after)

Ps. My last 3 bike all had riveted brembo discs - all had buttons that turn

Or the forks could be out of alignment

Free off the pinch bolts and main bolt then bounce the forks and re tighten

I agree with this reply, think this is possably where your problem lies, Your disc's should float easily.

I had the same problem, it was a warped disc. Replaced them with a pair of Armstrong wavey ones for £240.00
