I have checked all my disc bobbins and they are fine!
Just stripped down my front brakes to check all was well as I had experienced judder last Sunday on a ride out. Well when I removed the pads the inner ones are more worn that the outer ones, yet the pistons all move freely!!
I checked the thickness of the thinnest pad and the friction material is around 2.0 mm thick.
Now my questions are:
1. Has anyone else noticed that the pads wear down unevenly?
2. If yes to the above was it the inner pads that were worn more?
3. What is the thickness of the friction material on a set of new pads?
4. What make of pad do you all use and what are your experiences with them? Good, Bad, Indifferent?
PS. Forgot to mention that the brakes only pulsed after heavy braking, not all the time. I reckon my issue is that the pads are low and are unable to disperse the heat build up. Disc run out is minimal and they are in good condition too.
