New tyres fitted yesterday, fitted the front, all ok untill i torqued the pinch bolts got to the last one on the left hand fork leg - then heard a 'CRACK' looked down an the bottom of the fork leg had cracked right across:eek:
Been on the phone to KAIS, apparently this is common?:O on the radial Ohlins Looking like £200-£300 fix. :puke

I think that happened to my forks before I got the bike but they wer ereplaced under warrenty. Is it on your 06 bike? If so you might get it sorted for free.

I am going to get a new tyre fitted on the front next week. Pretty scared as I dont trust anyone and dont want my forks crcked or my bince blue wheels all scratched round the rim!!

Apparently that's not uncommon. Speak to Southern Cross they should be able to get it done under warranty

It's on my '03 RSVR so no warranty claim:confused. Just got a quote of £110 plus vat and the part has to be ordered from Sweden!:mad1 So it's off the road for a few weeks now:mad1
when you tighten the pinch bolts don't try and torque them to 22Nm, just nip them up:thumbup

Yep, 22Nm in the manual, don't do it though or you'll end up with this:-

That looks like the newer fork with the compression cartridge on the outside, the torque settings are 12nm for them and not 22nm as the earlier ones are.
