Fork swap with a difference. Milee to ZX6R F3

Got one of them silly Kawasaki's off a mate on saturday as a project.
Not too keen on the old stylee forks and seeing as I have a set of Ohlins for the Mille sitting in the front room, I was thinking of doing a front end swap.
Anyone know if I can figure out if there are any differences in the steering stems of each bike, or will I just have to try it and find out for myself.
Only problem I can see at the moment is that the ZX6R's speedo pickup is off the front wheel.
It's a 1997 ZX6R F3 model.

Dare I say it but sell the ohlins and swap in zx9r forks

It may well be possible. As well as dabbling in rsv's I seem to have to be building quite a collection of old kawasakis. After doing a fair amount of playing, it's pretty apparent that Kawasaki tend to use the same measurements for a lot of bikes.

I've got two zxr's at the moment, inc this one, which had a set of rsv forks and brakes in a set of race zxr yokes.

I've gt a standard fork / yoke setup sitting in the garage, which I can take measurements from if you need them. It'll give you an idea of whether things fit.

As for the speedo, I'm using a translogic, which is probably overkill for a project. I know of bikes that have used push bike speedo drive which "apparently" still read speeds over 100mph.

I used a vapor dash on my old street fighter good results and not a bad price

I used R1 clocks on my little street fighter, these are good as the front sprocket can be used to trigger the speedo pick up:thumbup

you just need to mount a magnet on the wheel and a pick up on the forks easy peasy
