Fork seals & shimming time!

Bit of advice please.

I have a 2000 RSV R - fantastic bike, very well sorted.
I live in a tiny Shropshire village - 30 secs = Biking roads [near Telford]
Fork seals are leaking and the tapppets need checking. I have built racing engines in the past. I used to race F2 sidecars, so I have a fair idea of bike maintenance and modifications.
However that was a few years ago [try 10!] I am tempted to do a winter strip down and service, but failing that - are the fork seals and tappet shims readily available and does anyone know of a good dealer/mechanic in my area?

Thanks - Phill A

Welcome to the zone Phill :thumbup

I'm from up on the N Wales coast but would think from where you are your best bet would be .............. GRIFF the Aprilia guru in Tamworth.

Not far from you really, I'm keep promising myself a visit for the same work to be done. He does get around the country tho' perhaps we should try and get him do a visit?

You could PM him on here, FUSEBOX otherwise

I'm off to se Griff on friday for a fork seal and suspension set-up - and the price he's quoted me is very reasonable. Looking forward to it - and I've never said that about going to my local Aprilia dealer!

Thanks
Will get in touch with him - seems a decent type of guy, and knows his business
