Cheers fellas,it's much appreciated. But can you tell me where to take the measurment from, and do the forks have to be extended or can you do it with the wheel on.

yOU MEASURE THE AIR GAP FROM THE TOP OF THE FORK.The forks need to be out so that you can empty them out . I swilled mine out with petrol to get the gunk and sh*t out of them. Im a big fella so used 7.5 oil and they work just fine.A cant remember if you have to measure with the gubbins in or out. Im sure Badger will be along soon to set us straight on this though!

Changed the oil in my Ohlins recently and I left the spring and damping rods in and had an air gap of 85mm. I used 5w oil and this made the forks a lot firmer than they were before but much more luxurious, more feel and holds a line better. With the top off of the fork you measure from the fork rim, so to speak, down to the top of the oil.
