Just in the middle of checking and replaceing the fork oil when I ran into some uncertanty. . .

What grade of fork oil can you guys recomend.
I Use it for all sorts, Road, Fast Road, Pillion etc
I'm doing a track day at Cadwell next Monday so i guess I need something not too soft.

The Manual is not very specific it suggests anywhere between 5W and 20W

Yep, me too!

Went with Silkolene Pro RSF 5WT oil and it transformed my front end, much more precise and copes with the bumps and bends much easier.

Not cheap at around £13 a shot (You need 2) but considering I only do this every 2 years or around 7000 miles whatever comes first it's not that bad.

Motul Factory Line Light 5wt (cst of 18.30) is what K-Tech use for all forks they do, and these boys know their stuff, i am just about to replace a blown seal on my Ohlins and that is what i will be using, but the Silkolene Pro RSF 5wt is quite a heavy oil for a 5wt it has a cst of 26.7, the Ohlins 43 R&T oil has a cst of 19, so there is a vast difference from one 5wt to another, the higher the cst number the more viscous the oil.

Your spot on Badger with your comment, the Silkolene Pro RSF 5W was more like a 10W oil. I was a little concerned it wasn't going to give the desired effect but it did and it was spot on.

You will be held to that now mate, had a beer with wee Tommy a couple of weeks back in the Crown, he was plastered, mind you by the end of the night i was doing a poor impersonation of the Riverdance, i was told it was funny though:cuckcoo

I have decided on 10w.
I called 100% suspension who will be doing my suspension set up at cadwell next week and they said 10w without any doubt. 5w for ohlins. Not ridden it yet, but i'll let you know how it feels.
