Just parked up at work and when putting chain on noticed a pool of oil, front fork is pissing oil out from the bottom of the fork ... Is this going to be ok to ride home (50 miles of a roads wit a fair few bumps) and any idea on cost on getting fixed :dunno

Thanks for any advice :thumbup

Funnily enough I was talking to a bloke last night who had had a similar problem on his bike. He had managed to gaffer tape some kitchen roll around his fork seal to mop up the leaking oil. It got him home.

Thing is, you dont want oil getting on to your brakes or tyre.

The back of the caliper is looking a bit oily, no sign on the disk... but depends when it went, if only 2 miles from work then the hour ride home could see it covered I guess:eek::eek:

Your fork seals have died :D, not that expensive (still not sheap) to fix, i think a bit less for showa forks. But you will also have to change the oil in the forks.

You can still ride it, even if only one fork leg works, but like other said, the problem is if you get the oil on you brakes.
