Hi All, has anyone fitted forged wheels to their Tuono?
I am tempted by some OZ Racing wheels, but I`ve only had Marchesini wheels on Ducatis in the past.
They are on offer at HPS at the moment and look great.
Cheers.
It may be worth it, Depends how much lighter they are.
My Ducati has Marchesinis but I rode a friends bike which was exactly the same with the exception of some BST carbon Wheels, It made the bike feel completely different, Turned faster, stopped and sped up faster.
But I dont think it was worth the £2000 price tag for a bit less inertia. If the Mag wheels are cheap and much lighter I would contemplate it though.
I have a GenII Tuono to which I fitted Oz forged wheels.
Nice to look at, a few extra bragging rights...and maybe a quarter of a second here or there on the track...but for the ordinary guy....that's it.
Unless you have the skills of Rossi that is, otherwise, I think it's all voodoo.
In your head.
Everyone you talk to will tell you how much 'better' their lightweights are.
Those that fit replacement rims tend to fit new rubber at the same time.
My theory is that it's the 'new rubber' feel that's giving the better handling characteristic, rather than the lighter wheels per se.
That initial difference between the old and new rubber colours judgement
I've ridden Tuono's with and without forged wheels back to back...and I'll be damned if I can tell the difference.
Like I've said..I recon it's all voodoo....
