I have a garmin e-trex Legend that i take into the hills for emergency use....you cant beat the old compass and map combo...no batteries to run out :biggrin
I also have a PDA that has a built in GPS that i have tom-tom loaded onto for road use, but i also have Memory-Map software on aswell with 1:250k roadmaps, and 1:25k & 1:50k scale ordnance survey maps :devious battery only good for 4hrs tho' so i never use that for walking :roll so if your lasts 18hrs thats pretty good stuff.
