fitted a new stator from electrex (so called 500w) my bikes a 2005 rsvr fact put it all back together,did away with the brown plugs and guess what ???????????

still only charging at 12.4 v at the batt :dunno
think its time to get rid fellas :confused
(oh ive had the batt on a maximate can this be any reason for the lack of charging)

Jonty,

When you say 12.4 at the battery at what revs are you measuring at?.

also your reg/rec could be at fault as could your battery

you need to disconnect the stator and measure the ac volts across each of the 3 wires (should be around 85 vac across each phase)

check the earth wire from the back of the cylinder head , they break and corode

will check batt terminal tomoz mate (how do i get at it?)
the stator shoud be fine as its a new one ??????
