Hey everyone im new to here because i need some help this has been an ongoing for some time ..ready here is the story as no one can help me including dealers everywhere....................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a speedway sidecar ....

We have run the 2000-2002 rsvr 1000 motor for a few years now great mint
i have recently just got hold of a motor i believe its a 2006 no one can tell me as i dont have a chassis number to put it with and no one can help with engine number
it runs single plugs not twin like my old motors and the new ecu black one not the old tin so this is why i believe its 2006 era big valves and injectors and throttle bodys etc.
my problem i got motor in parts have assembled got everything except flywheel pickup /pulse trigger
i NEED a three wire one not the usual two does anyone have a bike with one of these i can use chassis number to get one off aprilia
i have been givin two part numbers as follows AP0966570 and AP0265920 one is a two wire and one is a 3wire no one can tell me which is which

someone somewhere will be able to help me i want to see this badboy go anyhelp would be great

Sidecar speedway. That takes me back, I remember seeing some racing at Newcastle in the mid 1970s. I saw a lot of solo speedway in the mid to late 70s mostly at Reading but only ever saw one sidecar event.

I had a bit of a google and this is what I found.

PICK-UP SPINOTTO 2 PIN cod AP0966570
PICK-UP SPINOTTO 3 PIN cod AP0265920

3 wire seems cheaper too :)

Hope this helps.

Rob :)

Hello mate, I know what you are after. Your engine is an early 04, aprilia then changed to the the 2 wire sensor in late 04. I have a bike in the workshop with the 3 wire and will pm you the frame number when I get back in.

yep as Tash says this is the early 04 generation 2 motor (if you look at the cylinders there's a cast that will say 04, 05, 06 and so on inside a circled casting). I'm pretty sure you can run either?! but it may mean butchering your loom, another thing to watch on the early motors is the stators and reg/rec overheating and burning out.

No mate you can't run the 2 wire sensor with the 3 wire ecu, but you can run the 3 wire sensor with the 2 wire ecu(if that makes sense).

Is AP0265920 the correct code for the 3 (wire) pin sensor then?

Rob :)

Yes mate AP0265920 is the 3 pin one, we can do one for £145 + £3 postage.

it does Squire :thumbup - just wondered if the correct resistor on the 3rd wire would've sorted it?!
