It's on the right hand side of the engine, I'll get you a piccie.

okay so I have undone it, its a bolt about 70mm long ..............so whats next - I cant find anything in the V990 manual about it :-(

Oh crap......somehow I have to find a damn great bolt and TDC and i've put the bloody bike back together again, its 1 forward and 3 back with this bloody thing.

Talk about going from a high yesterday to a low now

You just have to spin the engine over until one of the pistons is at TDC, either one will do.

Can you not get a hold of some threaded bar locally, think it's either 6 or 8mm?

Doesn't have to be perfect, just grind the end round a little so that it can locate in the notch in the crank.

You can always order one of the ready made tools from AF1 but they are pretty slow to deliver.

Where did you get the puller from?

I think i'm gonna cheat , lock the bike in gear , put a bar through the back wheel (and hope the clutch dont slip) then try and undo the bolt.

Borrowed from nextdoor neighbour, but he needs it back for work tomorrow.

Okay well that didn't work !!, How do you find TDC without pulling the whole damn bike apart ?

Okay flywheel removed, sprag assembly removed (the 3 bolts were only finger tight !!!), sprag out of the housing and all the little "balls" fell out, they carrier looks quite scored too :)

Tim, Thankyou for that link, worked a treat !!!

That's not good that those bolts were loose.

Do you reckon it has been done recently and the dozy buggers left the bolts loose? That gasket did look rather new didn't it?

Post the piccies on this thread Scott, so we can all see the parts and what has happened.

you are one patient bloke, 90 days or not dealers have obligations and you should tell him you are going to the small claims court and trading standards

If it was a main dealer I would recommend taking back the parts and seeing if they will contribute towards the parts costs.

Local bike shop, well you better just forget it.

Small claims courts are a waste of time, will take years to get anything and that's not a guarantee.
