BRACKLEY
Hi guys. Aint long had my bike and with the sh**ty weather on the way i thought i would get some advice. I have been told that if i atempt to fire the bike up and the battery is low or dead it could do serious (expensive) damage to the clutch. If thats the case i will remove the battery when the weather gets too bad. Cheers lads any truth in this?

not the clutch but starter sprag gear .. low battery means the high compression of the engine kicks back and forces the one way sprag gear the wrong way.. can cause more damage ,have heard of cracked crankcases!

always on an optimate is the best ..also upgrade to a ytx14s battery more cold cranking amps..upgrade the solenoid to 150 amp item and contact killaprilla for some heavy duty starter leads

"have heard of cracked crankcases!" really,

ffs glad that when I done in my sprag it was only the garter spring that got stretched (even though I'd bought a new sprag and housing)
but Aye, as red says upgraded battery and the optimate...
