After two months of ownership I have no gripes with my 2003 RSV except the fairing.
The large side fairings (parts 4 and 5) are a poor fit to the top pieces (parts 8 and 9 at: https://www.apriliayorkshire.co.uk/... 2003&_pagename=Central body - Upper fairings )

All the fasteners are present but the central part along the two parts indicated is poor fit to the large side fairings and flaps a bit
Now there is an unused bolt mount on parts 8 and 9 but no corresponding hole in parts 4 and 5.
I am half tempted to fit and fit a Dzus fairing fastener to each.
Before I get handy with the drill any other solutions?

No they shouldn't flap about, there are a couple of tabs on parts 15 & 16 which should locate behind part 14 & hold them in tight. I've always found these side panels awkward to fit properly & had to remove the screw part of the top 2 Dzus fastener to locate the panel properly then insert & lock the Dezus fasteners when the panel is in position.

In this image, you can see the gap. The black oval highlights where on the small top piece there is a place to fit a Dzus faster clip, no hole on side fairing tho.

There is no hole in the mid panel where you have circled. Are one or both of the l-shaped clips snapped off? There are 2 at the top of the middle panel (part 4) that locate under the edge of part 8. That's how mine stops flapping. I agree with Nikfubar, they can be a bit of a pain to get back in correctly.

Rob - Ah that's it the front Lclip is an "I" and not an "L", The rear one is an "L". Thanks
I think I can make something to fix without the addition of an extra Dzus clip (and hole) in the side fairing

Would be good if you can. It'd be difficult to get a dzus screw to blend in nicely because the originals are all slightly countersunk too.

Good luck!

The panel on the left of mine doesn't seem to fit as neatly as tithe other side no matter how I do it. Both the L shaped tabs are intact. Any ideas?

Have you got a picture showing the problem. I find right side harder to fit but can't see a difference between left and right (in neatness) once fitted.
