Blimey thats not a job for a first timer! The curved tank makes fitting stomp grips to the Tuono really hard work! Think I've cracked it...lets give it 24 hours and I'll see if they've stuck!
I've got Stompgrips fitted to all my bikes and they are great. They are very helpful on sportbikes and sport tourers as they help you grip the tank which takes a lot of weight of your wrists and also helps the bike turn quicker.
The ones on my Blade did scuff my leathers once on a trackday but only a little bit. I took them off as a result and the reduction in handling/comfort wasn't worth it so they've gone back on.
Here's an iphone pic, they are not sticking that well really. The curve of the tank is very extreme and they have a tendancy to peel there. My bikes has a gloss laquer on it and I don't think that's helping either.
I'll leave them on for now and see how they look/feel on the next ride and report back.
I've had Stompgrips fitted to my Racing for a while now and there's no sign of peeling. I was unsure on fitting them initially due to some folk having them peel off but I guess the key to success is in the preperation of the tank? :thumbup
I had them on the Blade and they made a big difference on there, i wouldnt have thought they would make as big an impression on the T but maybe im wrong. You reckon they are worth it then??
I'm thinking that the stomp grip would make a difference in a spirited ride as well. And yeah, as with ANY job... prep work is paramount to the outcome of the project.
