First service

Ok so Im getting mixed reviews on this one, there's me thinking the first service was free but apparently I'm completely barking up the wrong tree!
So what's the score how much is it and what they going to do?
Bit pissed off cos I never realised till after I bought it!

Think mine was about Â£250, at Frasers in Gloucester. Opinion is divided as to whether they check the valve clearances or not.

phone the workshop an ask them whit there gonna dae..seems a mixed bag right enough...mibbe Aprilia Perfomance kin gie ye a staight answer!

first service is unfortunatly chargable nowadays (due to the maufacturers cutting dealer margins to the bone )and it was a desision made by the manufacturer not the dealer.
on the tuono twins it is a valve check and if they do it properly they will set up the fuel injection for you as well.
the v 4 isnt a valve check and is considerably cheaper.
we do it for Â£250 if we have supplied it or Â£350 if we havent !

Had exactly this conversation with the Griffalo last Tuesday. He also says that the valve check needs doing at the first service, he charges Â£300 for a 'major' service, but does a proper top job, I was more than happy to pay.

just took mine for its first service on saturday, was quoted Â£275. ("special price") cus i bought it from them...
also getting them to fit 15t sprocket, i've no idea how much they'll add on for that..?

I had my map changed on first service. Hard to tell if it's made any difference as I was driving like a slug up to the first service while running it in. Cost me Â£300 for service and map change at Prem1er nr Doncaster.

Map1 and catts are to get them through emissions laws. Map2 and open cans is whats needed to make then run right. Alters the fuelling, they need a richer mix than our laws allow. They need a lot of air to thats why many fit aftermarket air filters and airboxes.
Not faster, but a couple of ponies gained.
