OMG !!!!!.......... Just taken delivery of my 2006 RSV Factory & been on my first ride ......... Gotta say WHAT A MACHINE !!!!!!!!
I traded in my '57 reg R1 as it was just too manic on the road & must admit was apprehensive about the RSV but even though it was only a very short ride it blew me away ..........SO much nicer to ride than my R1 as I could just let the torque do the work , no more dancing up & down the gearbox !....... Everything felt so much nicer too brakes /suspension etc I could really feel what it was doing & it gave me loads of confidence , gearbox is easily a match for the R1 if not better , it's just up to me to ride it more to get totally comfortable with the new riding position etc
I can honestly say I should have done this YEARS ago ......... I'm a convert :inlove

Ha! I just had a similar experience a week ago. Have always had big jap inline 4s before. The first ride took my breath away & also scared me witless. Such a smooth ride & so much torque as you say. Mine's an older bike than yours but still had the same effect. Weather has been crap since & I am itching to get out on it again.
I also second your comment about should've done it years ago!! See you on the road!

Glad you had the same experience I did !...... These are epic machines !...... safe riding

Yeah, think I'll do that when I need new chain and sprockets. Does it mess up the mid range/top end much? Not so worried about the top end..,

Amazing aren't they! Stay on the A30 or M5:thumbup. (when it stops raining or blowing a hooley)
I still can't believe that I haven't heard more about these machines before I got one. They are like motorcylings best kept secret! So smooth, comfortable & really fast. The power delivery is something else!
Getting to know mine a bit better now & lovin' it !!

You a little at the top ...but the gearing puts the bike in the sweet spot and you'll like it a whole lot more
