Bought my first RSV today off a chap from this Forum, when i accelerate at approx 8k revs the bike kinds of jaults as if its hitting the limiter earlie, at first i thought the limiter revs had been changed but i found out that cant be done, it has an alarm fitted, not sure of make, hawkcaralarms is on the side of it, could this be causing it electical problems? and help would be great please

If you don't need the alarm for your insurance then ditch it, the alarm will certainly cause you grief one day if it's not the cause of the issue you have at present.
Check all the electrical connections on the bike are clean and tight first they do have a habit of going green and causing starting/running issues.
Start at the battery terminals first then the earths and then all electrical connections you can lay your hands on.
Do you have any EFI warning up on the dash or have you tried to read the fault codes if stored? (Am thinking it may be a TP set up issue)

It sounds like the spark plugs need changing if it will get worse, that it will start to happen at the lower revs, than its defenetly it

Right i just went outside to pop out somewhere, when i was revving it on idle the rev needle went a bit mad and the EFI light flashed 2 or 3 times
starting to worry abit now, the guy seemed a very genuine nice bloke and i cant see him selling me a dud
the front bulb did blow just before i picked it up
could it be anything to do with that

LOL I had this only 2 weeks ago.
My HID bulb was defective and it **** all my electrics up, at one point I was doing 280mph on a very twisty lane and my tacho was reading 3K but it was revving out. LOL
Replace the bulb first and see what happens.

go round to his house and ask him about the problem and see his reaction, i bet he sold it because of this expensive problem hes a :jack
right guys this is doing my head in now, i have just recorded a video of whats its doing i shall upload it now
