Hey everyone, against the collective opinions of many forum members here and on other forums, I bought my 04 Tuono 1000R for my first bike. I'm 22 and got tired of my girlfriend's 250 in about a week so I bought the cheapest liter bike on craigslist and now, here I am. On the ride home, I stalled it at a toll station (on purpose) and found out that battery was pretty bad. I replaced it with a lithium ion one with 300 CCA and it still doesn't kick over like I want. I've got some free time to work on it and saw a few mods that should help. First is the voltage rectifier/regulator upgrade. I'm about to buy a Shindengen FH012AA for the job, this will work for fairly cheap, right? Then I was gonna do the brown and white connector removal if anyone has some good pictures of where they are. I'm pretty good at soldering and heard it should help with charging on long rides. Anything else that will help me out with electrical before I start doing performance mods? Thanks in advance for all the help, I can't seem to find any manual for this bike or any information compared to the other Aprilias.

If its a fresh battery and still not turning properly I would suggest you get yourself a multimeter, then check the voltages.

It may be the Reg/Rec but It could also be bad earthing, Have you checked the battery ground? (clean with tight contact)

With a multimeter, you can check voltage from battery to starter relay, and then starter relay to starter motor.

Didnt think the Rotax engine had any hard start issues (I know my RSV mille didnt have any issue).

Oh, And welcome to the forum! :)
