Hi guys, I was out for a 'spirited' run the other evening when I heard a scraping noise mid corner, wasn't sure what it was so pulled over to investigate only to find it was the side stand that had decked out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:confused Anyone else had this problem? Is it a common thing to happen? I would have thought the foot peg would have decked out first :hmm2:

My knee or toe slider but not the stand , stand did touch down on my gixxer 750 once ...... just before i fell off :banghead

Yeah it was a bit wierd, checked the spring on the stand Garry, seems fine, doesn't rattle about when it's up, maybe just been a bump/lump in the road, who knows, just thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone else had it happen to them :D thanks for the replies :)

I take it, it's not an Aprilia stand then?
Aftermarket stands are notorious for hanging at the wrong angle in relation to the bike.

Nah it's the real deal stand, I'm thinking it must have been a bump or somat that caused it, but would've thought the peg would go down first but would need to be at some angle!!!!!

Yep, stand goes down, the pegs have ground (aftermarket rearsets) also have a nice angled gouge out of the exhaust flapper near the link pipe.

Sweet Dan, must have a good angle of lean on for the exhaust flapper!!!! Track or road for them going down?

I dont do road at the moment :thumbup

Weird as got aftermarket rear shock (sprung to suit and front end is sorted too). was wearing through my racing bellypan :no

But yes a fair bit of lean and corner speed, I think I will get it chopped off over winter and replace with some SS tube of the same diameter.
