Hi johnoo, me again, just on the way out and saw this.......

Big winner is - change the gearing.....either 16/42 or 17/44-45-46 to lower the stupidly tall oem gearing.

There is an Arrow can c/w exhaust valve that is designed for the Caponord, otherwise have a prowl in the 2014-2016 forum for photo's and comments on other options. My thinking (having just had my Ex-valve seize open) is that it makes a lot of noise (like a Ducati Diavel.... ) and it feels like it looses some HP........but I'm not sure about this - better to catch someone who has done the mod.

Rally already has the best panniers in the business......and you can buy a Givi top plate and fitting plate.......also, a centre stand can be fitted (it is just a TP minus the centre stand and with a big front wheel and skinny rear rim.....).

Ps if you can avoid ethanol fuel you will save your fuel gauge from a common malfunction.The only thing I put in mine (other than 95ron petrol) is some occasional Valvoline fuel injector cleaner........and my gauge works fine after 34k kms.

LED direct replacement bulbs are now cleverly designed

G'day again from the other end of the horse!

I was lurking about the "Autobarn" store today and was shown the 'JW Speaker' brand LED direct replacement H11 bulbs. They look promising as they are 2000 lumens and 6200k and have a neat alloy heat sink and do not require any mods other than to simply fit and plug in........I have a pair of Philips "fog light" LED's but they are only 700 lumens and are marginal for night riding......but look great with 6000k white light. They are neat style with no ugly heat ribbons etc and have inbuilt electronics etc etc.

I'm hesitant to spend $200Aus on a new set of bubs without some advice confirming that they are excellent etc......but the manufacturer claims are very interesting!

I could always go back to the oem H11's as they are fine, but I am impressed with the design of the LED shaft- it seems to have solved the problem of the cheap LED light scatter issue.......and JW Speaker is a big player in the vehicle lighting market.......

Oh, I just pull the passing trigger when I need all three lamps on........but I don't do much night riding......others have cleverly added a diode to the LH switch so that all three lights are on at high beam....but they are drawing 3 x 55w so it might be better to add two LED broad beam driving lamps instead.....

I must warn you that the halogen bulbs will scorch the silver coating off the low beam headlight bases (bulbs are very close to plastic base)......so the higher power versions may do that faster than the oem bulbs, hence my interest in cooler running LED (and nicer whiter looking) bulbs that don't blind other drivers or possums in trees! Caution with the Canbus wiring under the speedo panel too.......don't blunder around there without studying the forums.
