hey everybody!!
this is my first post !! ive owned a 07 rsvr for 2 years now and it has been much loved !! ive been liveing in northan italy "marranello" working for a f1 team out there so i took my bike so i could use it around all the fantastic roads and had a great time the bike was really made for mountain roads !! im back i the uk for a while and the bikes here now i wana tell you about the poor service i have had from aprillia uk ,when the bike had 1000 mls on the clock the left fork leg started to weep and ajust itself to the hard pos so the part was orderd and after 3 weeks it came !!! oops they said wrong part 1 week later oh dear wrong bit again the dealer decided to try and take the part off the bike but slipped and scratched the fuel tank :angry thats ok i will get you a new one he said ! i could not use the bike and had to wait another 3 weeks for the new leg and fuel tank !this meant the bike was not ready to come to italy so i left it there in the shop for weeks ! when i finally got it there all was good for a while then on a run out with mates the left mirror shook apart and started to fall apart as after the right started to as well hitting a mate as we rode !!! not good i brought the bike back to the uk on a break from work told them in the shop about the probs and they orded the parts but only after they had to take pictures of the parts to please aprilia uk another 3 weeks passed and after calling aprilia uk only to get mugged off the dealer got the parts from somewhere else so i did not have to wait longer !! ive had probs with the rear brake "i know its the same on all the bikes" and now to top it off the right hand folk leg is weeping and they have just sent the wrong part ahhhhhhhhhhh !!! after 5000 miles 2 years ive had enough they built such a great bike but have let me down all the way and aprilia uk could not give a **** no back up for the dealer and just problems for me the owner !!!

Hi and welcome to the forums.

From my experiance this is totaly opposite to the treatment i've had from aprilia. Any probs i've had have been done on warranty. I wish they made cars aswell.

Maybe try another dealer, the people i speak of are the ones in wareham, dorset.

The Ohlins fork seals tend to weep after a while, it's a common issue. You say they sent the wrong part? I'm pretty sure most Aprilia dealers would keep the fork seals in stock? There is also a revised fork seal from Ohlins that should cure the weeping issue for good. Which dealer are you using?

they couldent match the parts so in the end i got a new folk leg!! i dont know why i guess ive just been unlucky dont help me much though ive called aprilia so many times !this time they sent a black folk leg when it should be a gold colour leg im ready to throw me bollocks at the clock !!

thanks mate im shure its the dealer and aprilia just plain bad service unlucky for me but i cant keep waiting for parts when i should be rideing!! as i said its a great bike and i was willing to live with the rear brake and the odd quality issues but ive had enough this is all warrenty work as i got the 4 year deal thank god !!!

when you say aprilia uk, who are you talking about exactly as theres no such thing as aprilia uk? every dealership is run differently, the one in london (closed now) was run by a bunch of cowboys too, didnt have a clue what they were doing, ring up a few dealers and take it to one that has the bits in stock.

Sorry fella but i'm sure that any Aprilia dealer should match a fork seal and be able to order one if this was in fact the faulty part? The fact that they had to order the whole fork leg because of this is quite unbelievable as i'm sure all Ohlins fork parts are available seperatly to order. I would try another dealer if i were you :thumbup

All Ohlin parts are available seperately..how in the hell could ya rebuild em if not???
That motorcycle dealer is pulling yer chain surely..fork seals are definately available, and as LEGS says, there is a revised double lip seal available... will see if i can come up with a part number for ya...then also as said, ring around the dealers...crikey a whole new fork for a fargin seal, sounds like he needed one for another bike..i smell a rat. :pirate

The warranty backup is generally only as good as the supporting dealer.

The dealer inputs the part numbers online and if he got the wrong parts he ordered the wrong numbers.
Aprilia has a huge parts deppo in France now whcih caters most of europe and has a 93% pick rate for parts and usually turn them around in 3 -4 days.

Historically Aprilia did have problems in their financial woes of 2004 when suppliers cut credit but there is no general problem now.

Consider another dealer if i were you.
