faulty master clutch cylinder

need help with this mystery. i have an 04 RSV-R. i have to bleed the master clutch cylinder every other day or so. it's not leaking fluid, it just takes on air to the point that the lever squeezes right to the bar. I've been told this happens to the cylinder and the only fix is to replace it. I'm thinking about using a Ducati master clutch cylinder. I'm pretty sure it fits. anybody had this problem? Aprilia wants almost $400 for the replacement part. i can get one from the Wounded Duc for $100. thanks

Hey buddy, there is a replacement mod for the clutch master cylinder by a company called MPL in Germany. (http://www.mpl-tuningparts.de/english/gtcs.html) They have a bigger capacity holding more fluid which also makes the effort to pull the lever less. (and they look cool!) They're a great mod in my opinion. If you contact MPL, they should sell you one for approx 90Euros.

At the risk of telling you something you already know - you need to bleed the clutch both at the lever AND the master cylinder.

Hope this helps.

The MPL is a slave rather than master cylinder. Nice kit but probably won't sort the air issue. The 1098 etc Ducati part will fit or there is a Honda set of seals that fit the Aprilia Master cylinder if it's a seal issue.

Could you be more specific, please? I have an 02 RSV with a weeping master cylinder. Thanks!
