fault diagnosis

K

killaprilla

hi ive had a quick look in the search section but can only find info on earlier models

im looking to see if you can and how you get self diagnosis on 2007 rsv

following my recent thread of overfuelling

just want to see if there any errors

you get error codes on the dash but i think you need an axone to self diagnose propper

The post 2004 bikes are always in diagnostic mode (Can Bus) and any fault on a monitored component will throw a dash warning and be stored in the ecu.

Active codes can be viewed by holding the lap button in whilst turning on the ignition for 20 odd secs from memory but stored codes are viewed by the Axone diag tool only.

If you have a over fueling issue on an otherwise normal functioning bike it will almost certainly be map/setup related.

What makes you think it's overfueling ?

hey spoonz thanks
it worked and falsed up code 50 ??? cant find that one

thinking its over fuelling as using excessive fuel - there are no leaks and those whole follow can smell it - gonna try get it sorted out local chap here with dyno / axone and see if can be set up

not sure about that code 50 tho -- any ideas anyone

found that fault code 50 is to do with the starter so thats no worry

plugs are sooted tho spoonz -i'm using those ngk iridium ones - might go back to standard plugs :dunno

Yeah gonna get it set up spoonz before the good weather starts - hopefully get a power commander on it try improve things better - you think should go back to normal plugs too ? have them in the trusty blade and they work excellent

If you could find one to buy, just how much is an Axone worth?

Could it be just a fuel leak? Or possibly out the tank vent tube if the cannister has been removed, (which is it's job of course, filtering out the fumes). At fillup, cold fuel, heated by the engine, must go somewhere...

The residue on my plugs was a medium brown colour at 10,000mi. Is it difficult when hot to start?
