fan coming on @ 75 degrees

Can some one help me here put a new battery in started it up to heat up and the cooling fan came on at 75 anybody know why:confused

have you checked the coolant is at the right level?
Next stop would be the fan switch. you could test it with a multimeter, thermometer and a pan of water on the hob I guess.

Temperature sensor???? Join the diagnostic connector up and see if you get any fault codes..
