Hello all,
New member with a 98 RSV Mille. I bought the bike in ok condition. It had been low sided so a lot of the fairings are damaged. I was wondering where some good places are to purchase fairings. I have been doing a lot of searching and everything seems very expensive. If anyone could lead me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. Also, if I could get information on which year fairings will also fit my model, I would also greatly appreciate it. Thanks in advance!!

Daniel

all years 98-03 all fit so you can mix and match

quick guide

99-00 the same side fairings, smaller headlight ,slimmer seat unit, early tank = unvented side panels

01-02 updated lower fairings ,bigger headlight, larger seat unit, late petrol tank = vented side panels

03 as above but different seat unit

so any combination of panels bolt on the bike ..but you must have the matching headlight for the nosecone and matching rearlight for the seat unit, matching tank for the side panels..and the front seats differ as well

bellypans all the same across the years

basically ebay

hows this for a complete body kit?

If you are looking for something a bit more standard (so you can actually insure it!), my brothers got a complete kit inc headlight and fuel tank, as below but with the matching tail piece not the black one on the bike. It comes with a top (engine mount) set of R&G bungs.

He was looking for around £500, but will probably drop to £400. He spent just over £600 on it in '04 when he bought a brand new Mille and took the bodywork off it on day one just in case he binned it on a track day. He didn't bin it but sold the bike about 18 months ago.

Fuel tank comes with pump & it includes the screen (and a new chain I think). If you are interested I'll get him to take some better pics as it's now wrapped up in his garage.

I don't know, but I forsee a slight problem of getting this amount of bodywork to Italy in 1 piece without it delivery costing as much as the bits are worth!

I could also see that as a problem. Would he be willing to sell certain parts?

Depends how much you need, but he would much prefer to sell the lot in 1 go. As described in Red's post, it can get a little messy matching things up and therefore selling odd pannels via ebay or the like can be a pain in the hole. Also if you need the top fairing, the 01/02 headlight is required and even second hand on ebay this is likely to be well over £100 (only one currently available is £169).

I would be interested in picking up the whole set. Any way I could get a rough shipping estimate to APO/AE 09603?

Quick quotes range from £180 to £290 depending on how small I could make the parcel! Problem is that a smaller box with less protection risks damage in transit.

I've asked for some new photo's anyway, so you can see exctly what is included and the condition.
