Fairing question

Hi all

I am after a little advise.

I currently have a 99 Mille and am addicited to trackdays. I am collecting cheap body work for the track but just have a few questions.

What nose fairing would fit a 99 Mille?

I have read somewhere that the later 02 models have a different light size. Is that correct?

Fairings are diferent from 98-00 to 01-03(well 03 had a diferent ass)

But any fairing will fit 98-03, if you want to use the headlight then you also need it from that model. For the track you dont need lights, so go for any fairing you find.

I so if I wanted to use the nose cone from an 02 model would I need to use the headlight from the same model? Can I use an 99 headlight in an 02 nose cone?

Jonny just get some track fairing. i seen the whole lot on ebay for £200, plus you can take of your headlight so if it does go down its 1 less thing to worry about.

I was thinking about track fairing but it turned out cheaper to get used tatty road kit. I picked up the whole lot Inc seat unit (not Inc nose) for £100. Gave it a rub down and spray now it looks good.

The benefit of having road kit is it is stronger than track fiberglass and I could ride to to track if needed.

Jea for 01-03 fairing you need the light from 01-03. 99 light is diferent.

But like other sugested, for the track, have a track fairing, without lights.

And if you are regulary going to trackdays dont go there with the bike, first you will be tired at the end of the day and you still need to come home

And if you crash(it happens sooner or later), your ******, usualy something gets bent or you loose, lets say, the clutch handle and you wont be able to ride the bike.

Get some other sort of transportation to the track and use full race fairings.

I use some fibre fairings that are copy of original pieces and I have them on for the street, use the original fairing for the front, when going to a trackday I just have to change the front fairing and blinkers. 30min of work, so its no problem to prepare the bike for the track.
