Just a quickie

got the 99 model but love the look of the 01. If brought all the panels/tank for the bike of 01 would it fit? would I need to change things like the subframe etc.

Its just a thought at the moment as im guessing the panels are not going to be cheap so will have to buy 1 bit at a time

unless you have an old tatty 01 set that you would like a tidy 99 set in exchange for

i think it does fit mate!!

before i bought thr tri colour i went to look at a 99-on a vplate.in yellow,

but it was fitted with a 2001 complete bodykit,so im 99% it has/can be done.

Hi

Hate to say it, but the answer's in the question. If you like the 01 better, it would be easier and cheaper to buy one. Buy now and get a bargain, then sell yours in April or May when the sun is out for better money.

Yeah thats something that would be nice to do but with limited cash its a little tricky.

The frame and subframes are the same, appart from the rear main frame mounting hole for the tank/seat side panel. So yes it could be done but you would need to change it all to make it fit properly, appart from the airtubes, coil cover strips and belly pan which don't change shape from 1998 - 2003. The front and rear lights are included in the change. So as said above it's not the most cost effective way to do it. You could just put soem front air dampers/ears on your fairing and get a hybrid look.
