Took me bike weds afternoon ta a local Kawasaki dealers in Ramsgate n it failed.....

Bugger another few weeks off the road while the weather is getting better aaarrrggg

The tester I think wanted the bike to fail soon as he saw it .......u know the type a right jobs worth!!!!!
Put my standard can on and its got a full size no. Plate so no worries there but some of the things he failed it on were ridiculous miniscule things like tiny blue led side light bulb as well as the white one on it!!!!!
The head bearings had the faintest of resistance when turning off center indicating that they are worn in the very slightest but not enough to warrant being classed as dangerous lol.....
Also my bars had not enough clearance at full lock to the fairing so your fingers have very little room ......any one encountered this on a mille????? I thought it seemed a bit odd only way I can see to sort it is by lowering the clipons a bit as the fairing dips down and forward there will be a bit more room......
Oh and also my back brake decided to give up the ghost on the test but was perfect when I set out grrrr...
Oh and a slight stiff link in the chain so he failed it on that too ...:rant

So all in all rather miffed ....there u go rant over and wallet lighter after having to fork out for new bits ......

P.s. will not be going back to that Kawasaki dealers again very unfriendly and awkward atmosphere ......

I have a "friend" in Ramsgateland! Does the Kawasaki place have a scooter place next door to it? Think I saw that when I was there last weekend.
Anyway. Thought the chain issue would only have been an advisory. Had two nails in my rear tyre for one m.o.t. and that was an advisory.
Though I have been failed on the bar issue before, not anymore. Only time that's an "issue" is when i'm moving the bike when it aint even running.

Lol u mean planet Thanet!!!:devious

Go somewhere else mate. In my experience it's the places that look a bit tatty, give you nothing off the price of the test, and don't insist on booking it in 5 years in advance that do the most honest tests. I took my 2000 Mille to a guy down here last year that passed it no probs - even with no baffles in my straight through cans!! He just gave me an advisory about the noise but said at the end of the day loud cans save lives - my kind of mot tester!!

Do yourself a favour & find a better place to MOT it :biggrin
I get mine done here Aprilia Bikes - Bikers World - UK Aprilia Dealer, for Aprilia Motorcycles in UK
Not that far away from you, book a time & John will do it whalst you wait, he knows Aprillias inside out & races a RSV4, he doesn't fail them on ******** things, even passes on my cut down Arrow cans with just an advisory as long as the bike is safe & has a full size number plate :thumbup

Cheers nik will do sounds a much better bet.....but ordered most of the bits now so will replace all that no try n sort that back brake out for good with the different master cylinder

I don't know if you've got your MOT yet, but i get mine done at Colwins in Sittingbourne. Guy seems ok, likes noisy exhaust for safety, etc, got to be better than your muppet !!!!

Sounds good too bud but don't fancy riding that far going to an mot test with no tax although it is insured

It never ceases to amaze me how many wankers are still doing mot's
I had a KTM 400 fail a few years ago due to " I don't like the look of the chain adjusters "
Not really an mot fail mate is it ?

Sometimes you need to change your mot station
