Hi, would anyone know if factory heated grips can be retro fitted to a 2013 model ? I believe that the grips came from a Rally model and attach to connectors behind the dash panel. Has anyone done this already and confirm if these will connect successfully to my bike ?

Hi ACT Capo.
Do you know if the connector at the back of the dash on every model ? Will the dash recognise the grips are there without a software change ?

It was on my TP model. As far as I know the Rally and TP heated grips had the same part number when I was looking, so I’d assume the plug is the same.

I just fitted mine, plugged them in and they worked without any software update.

Whatever you do don't disconnect the dash - just swivel it out of the way after you remove the screen, and you should see the connectors for the heated grips.

One UK guy disconnected the dash and then had Can-Bus issues...... i never found out why, but he blamed disconnecting the dash......

An after thought........ if the Aprilia heated grips are too expensive or there are no wires under the dash on the 2013 model, try pricing something like Oxford heated Grips........ they used to be $120 a set and connect directly to the battery with a control unit that attaches to the bars. They have a battery saver function that switches the grips off if you forget when you stop.
