factory gold wheels, what a pain in the ass

trying to clean my front wheel but what a pain in the ass, tried everything ive got in the garage and kitchen, been to Halfords, J&S and local dealers but nothing suitable for anodised wheels, the rear cleans up nice but its the front that im having trouble with
I've even taken the wheel off the bike and removed the discs
any ideas

i used some degreaser in a spray can i got from halfords and scrubbed it with a toothbrush, then made sure i cleaned all the degreaser off and it worked a treat . but i know what your saying there a pig to clean but like the man say,s powder coating is the best thing as the finish on them is,nt a smooth one.

took 3 hours of scrubbing with various stuff, ending up with a sponge/green pad and washing up liquid, still not happy with the uneven finish but it is much better

Mucker they're a major PITA, I've used everything bar pickling paste.

The best result I've had was with a foam or liquid gunk rubbed in wae a sonic toothbrush, rinsed then polished wae AutoGlym Gold bottle (extra gloss protection).

I reckon the front's worse because of the brake dust attacking the surface, is almost like the fookers are porous.

As T says, after 4 years worth of rubbing them and skinning ma knuckles, I reckon a clearcoat or powdercoat is going to be the easiest way to keep them clean.

Bikes are for riding not cleaning bud.
Mine gets a snow wash once a year wether it needs it or not. :thumbup

I use an aerosol of stuff called Perfect Inox, spray on, wait a min... Wipe off. Use all over except plastics and seat.
Brilliant stuff but really hard to find for sale, as its trade only. Last time I had to arrange a group buy with some mates, 12 cans at a tenner each!
