What is it with insurance companies ffs.....last year £140 Fully comp ...HAD TO PHONE THEM for a renewel quote as it runs out tomorrow ..... this year £290 fully comp with £750 excess FFS... i'm 42 with FULL no claims :rant and i dont live in a big city or town

Anyhoo best i got this year was with HnR £169 fully comp :roll

Try the bike insurer they got me a good deal on my factory with MCE! the quotes they gave were a lot better than MCN's search engine!

MCE too. £169 with quote from the bike insurer, im 30 with 5 Years no claims.

i have not even called yet either, normally shave a few £££ of by calling two of the lowest companys on the bike insurer to hopefully play them off against each other.

ay up boys

try 'A Quote' insurance brokers, paid £119 fully comp incl legal cover etc, back in november, excess £250 ish. i'm 43 with full no claims blah blah blah

28 yr old, 6 yrs NCB, tpft in a rough area ... £220 tpft with £250 excess ... mods declared. oh and thats garaged with a 4000 mile estimate

Funny thing insurance. Everyone goes for the cheapest quote understandably but what about the actual service you'll recieve when you need to call on them and the inclusive benifits. I've heard many horror stories of ins companies taking over a year to settle, losing vital paperwork and generally being a nightmare to deal with.
After my brother was knocked off his bike and I saw first hand how Carole Nash dealt with him I decided I'd pay the extra for that level of service.
I'm 31 5 years NC and pay £500 maybe a touch over, for fully comp with 6 points! I get uk and European breakdown, home start, legal cover, NC protected and vouchers for stuff I can't remember, £250 excess.
I looked into MCE after getting quotes too good to be true and found too many pissed off people but I guess everyones experience is personal and people only take the time to write when they've a grudge to bare?

yeh i get what you're saying mate, but when times are tight, i tend to just go with the cheapest as its what i need to stay above the law. I keep my fingers crossed i dont have to test out how good they are when making a claim ...

Ha I wish mine was that price I nearly had to sell my mille the day after I bought it as no1 would touch me for insurance . I'm 25 and have 4 years no claims but cos I was changing from my R6 to my mille and changing the policy they said the last year wouldn't count even though it only had a month to go on the policy. Ended up getting insurance for £870 with £500 excess, standard bike 3000 milage per year and bike is kept in locked garage and anchored to the floor. Nice area too lol.

Should count yourself lucky guys!

Dude, being English we rarely praise anything, twisting on the other hand is somewhat of a gold medal sport. I claimed with MCE a few years ago, they were spot on like. Im with them now, 28, 3 yr n/c, 3 points, 1 accident, £150.

haha yeh you are so right mate, unfortunately everything that makes the country cr*p just makes all the good things seem slightly faded if you get me ... theres a lot of stuff that needs sorting before people will be happy! entirely different topic however !

I still think its crazy me paying double the insurance on my car than on my bike ... potential for damage to other stuff i suppose

Hit the nail on the head there mate. I had a brief adventure into cars over a 1.5 year period, 1st Celica £750, 2nd Celica £850, Impreza turbo £915 then...... RSV £150? wtf lol

Yeh ive been into cars for a fair stint, always had bikes but got sick of all the disadvantages of having a smart/fast car ... its just crippling. so ive just got a diesel donkey now

I love my bike :D :D
And paying my bike insurance is something i actually enjoy haha ...

Just realised thats similar to me mate ... 28, but ive got about 6 yr ncb, no points and one not at fault accident. mods declared and im paying over 220 tpft ... thru MCE also ?
