Hello aprilia RSV-Community,
firstly I would like to say that you are a friendly forum here. I`m from Germany, therefore apologised my beginner English.
I read the the entry form Chaz: http://apriliarsv.com/aprilia-rsvr/20762-rsvr-original-exhaust-coring-conversion.html.
That is very interesting and a good summary about the subject "original exhaust - modification". But I want to modify my Leo Vince exhaust cans. The reason therefore is that for my flavour the cans (without dB-eater) are too quiet. (I drove with two friends (Yamaha R6 and a Honda CBR 900) and both was louder than my nice RSV 1000 RR)
So now I stand for a problem: "How to make the exhaust louder (but with also a good deep sound) and don`t loose power." And by this way I want to make the cans nicer (by curtail the cans and take carbon foil).
So my questions for you are:
1. What is the aim of steel wool instead of EXHAUST SILENCER PACKING SHEET?
2. What is the optimal shape of the performed tube? (Only a straight tube without any conical geometry?)
3. What will happen with the max. power when I short the exhaust by 130mm = 5 inch (approximately? (Because the exhaust - tube length have a big influence of the power characteristic) (Will it rise to higher revs and loose a little bit in the middle area?)
4. What is louder: loose insulation wool or the recommended EXHAUST SILENCER PACKING SHEET?
(Know anyone why the functions "Insert Image" and "Attachments" don`t work on my computer?)
Thanks for help!
Cool biker greetings :tillis
