Exhaust leak at join?

Would anyone know how to cure exhaust leaks at the joins. I have a 2003 Tuono and there is a slight leak at two of the joins, I have stripped it down and made sure the joins are clean and rejoined but if you put your hand near you can feel a slight blow of air. Nothing wrong with the springs as there is plenty of tension on them.

You could try some exhaust paste did mine a while back stopped it completely ;-)

got mine from halfords about 4 quid for a tube!

Hi there, Thanks for the reply, I was hoping I wouldn't have to apply that white gunge but it looks as though I might have to. I thought someone would come up with something different,

I'd let the exhaust seal itself. If it's only blowing very slightly the carbon in the gasses will seal it after a short time.

Can you find anything medium to soft that you could lightly tap into the male part of the joint to make it a little wider, would only need a fraction of movement to get a tight fit?

Ptfe tape goes up to about 260degrees, just wap a load round the spigot end and shove it in the socket end - you wont see it and it wont make a mess and easily removed

Another question, the tail pipe can be removed no problem but the other two joins might, does the exhaust need to be unbolted from the head to get enough maneuverability to get the middle section off. I've looked at the manual but it doesn't say anything about that. All it says is about removing the whole exhaust. I don't want to unbolt it from the head if I don't have to.

I didnt have to i manage to get it out with a few twats with a rubber hammer but some ppl do have problems and have to loosen the header
