exhaust help

hi. iv an 05 rsvr fitted with akros and power commander ..
i want to put sleevs in the cans to make it louder.
apart from re tunning it . will it harm the engine in any way.

Hi, how will sleeves make it louder ? You might need to get the bike dyno'd to check it's fuelled properly after the change.

blocks baffles from inside. straight pipe... have done it to all my jap bike but not sure about v twin

Putting things in the exhaust is only going to make it quieter......if you want it louder you want to be taking stuff out:devious

nope. saves taking rivets out taking cans apart. have done it loads a times. tight sleeve the length of can turns it into straight pipes = nice n loud

If you have done it loads of times why are you asking if it will harm the engine????the rotax is just an engine like any other

You are basically taking the sound absorption away so I get your gist ...never heard of it before though

iv heard the engine runs hotter with lack of back pressure . iv never had a problem running the jap bikes like that .bit heavier on juice is all.can aprilia handle same abuse?

You would need to alter the fueling.

I dont thinkbits a great idea though the rsvs do prefer a full length can. I have been toying with the idea of fitting a small section of pipe on the outside off the inner pipe next time I re pack my cans to get them slightly louder..
