Alright lads how are you all,

well after getting tottally pissed on by the rain for last 2 days :rant my clutch has suffered well probs nothing to do with the rain :biggrin but a problem none the less,

I seem to have a 1/2" to 1"play in my clutch lever any ideas lads? is it just simply a matter of giving it a good bleed,

Sorry i havent posted much over the last few days lads been flat out trying to sort out my trip

One last thing Mr Cat/Sprocket Rocket the parcel will be in the post tomorrow if thats cool really sorry for the delay lads :thumbup

Are you having any issues selecting gears or neutral?

Chances are if the free play has suddenly appeared then it will be moisture/air in the circuit.

Mine did the same about a day or two after I bought it, one minute riding fine the next it clunked like a good one going into 1st, neutral was a pain to find too.

Bled it all out and it was fine, if you haven't bled it before make sure you read the posts on here, they will save you a lot of time and aggravation.

PS. Don't forget that there is a little screw on the clutch lever which allows you to set up the free play. Use this once you are sure the system is air free and has fresh clean fluid.

As you know you can adjust it with the span adjuster on the lever. Is it spongy? Does it go into gear/ neutral ok? When was the fluid last changed cos it needs replacing from time to time.:eatcorn

alright lads neutral isnt any trickier then normal to be fair never get it selected first time but then again i never have,

Its only started happening this morning to be fair so as you say i think its moisture in the system,

will give it a bleed tonight and fingers crossed that should sort the problem

Now the question i would like to ask is,

1, can you get replacements?

2, would this effect the lack of clutch im currently "not" getting?

cheers lads need to get it sorted, its so annoying now, ive got so much play in the lever its untrue, I still havent bled the clutch yet

cheers lads

All depends on if it is the dust boot that is chewed up or the actual seal.

My cover is all mangled but the clutch worked fine after bleeding it correctly.

If it is the seal that is fooked, take the opportunity to replace the clutch master cylinder with one that gives your hand a bit of an easier time.

alright lads bleed the clutch and what a ball ache it was but its all done and 100 x better thank god

Quick one for Mr Cat and sprocker cocker the exhaust went out on Friday via royal mail they said it was to big to go out 1st class so it went standard, the lady behind the counter said it will take 3 days at most so it should be with you Wednesday latest buddy, ive cleaned it up like new aswell, good luck with it and get those ear defenders out your going to need them :laugh
sorry for the delay guys but with no car i was struggling to get it to the post office, in the end i thought fook it and placed it across my lap :devious got there with no problems :thumbup

ITS ARRIVED this morning big lad :dougNot fitted it yet tho', first impressions are it's smaller than i was expecting, and heavier, but it looks excellent quality :thumbup once i'm done loading the misses's ipod up with crappy music for her i'll be out to fit it and get some pics taken :thumbup

What do they say about good things coming in small packages? :devious :laugh

Good to hear the clutch is behaving itself again MilleBoy :thumbup

A good pic Sprocker would be to get your good lady to stand with the camera poised to take a picture when you first hit the starter button after fitting..........
