Eventually my Prillie will hybernate for the winter, and I was wondering if the bike will sit happily for long period on the side stand or if I should invest in a rear paddock stand, and if so, what is the difference between a £25 stand and a £75 stand?
And can anyone drect me towards a reasonably priced one!

Bike should be fine on side stand, only complication I understand would be if the side stand switch is faulty this could make it worse or if you've got Ohlins suspenders at the front which could leak on the side that is under most pressure....I'm sure others will offer further advice. With regards a stand I'd PM Little 1 UK, who may be able to assist or offer impartial advice!

Get an abba stand it will take the pressure of the both the front and rear end of the bike. Mine sat on one all winter last year. Awesome bit of kit, every bike owner should have one!!!

I agree, ABBA stands rock :thumbup

Even better idea would be to not let your bike hibernate but keep on riding then you won't get any problems

Ideally you want both wheels off the ground. sitting the whole weight of the bike on one spot on the tyres for 4 or 5 months is not ideal. if you can't get them off the ground move the bike every so often so it varies the contact point.

If you have Ohlins especially bounce the forks too. Keeps the rubber from becoming hard on the seal lip.

Abba stands are very good but I prefer my Ultipro £85 to your door and no adaptors to buy

But remember whatever you get dont bother with one of the **** stands for £30 its gonna end it tears...

Spoonz,

Don't you recommend to abba then. Its ticks all the boxes for me?

better still - you often get more dry days at winter than this bloody summer
so ride her all yr round whenever the sun is out
the lack of a summer agian this year means you hardly get out......
this way you make the most of all the best weekends

Abba stands are great i have one.

in the winter i use a standard bobbin stand and a front stand as well though.

I ride all year around, not just the Prillie. She does not like it wet. For the wet ones I use my trusted and battle worn Diversion. My Prillie, though, gets me to work with a bigger grin.

My bike would drop to bits and I would be left with a pile of brown powder if I rode it through winter.
