no tax so no ride to work today :thumbdown

Not sure if the down pipes are genuine Akra Nob as i thought they came with the balance pipe already welded in. I had a quick look under her in the shop and didn't think it was there. Mind you i have read so much recently i'm not even sure that's right.

I'll take a mess of pics the wknd. and make an online album.

If Windy is from Guildford and his real name is Tom then yep, i think i may have his bike, and no, he can't have it back.

were you getting tired when you replied to this shvlheadwolf? :yes

To answer Smiffy's question, - Yes they come standard with a Sachs steering damper - it will be red if it's the stock item. The Ohlins unit is better but even used ones fetch about £100 on ebay, so not top of the list of things to change.
The Akra system loks right, the cans and link pipes should be separate, Titanium. The headers are in Stainless steel. Really needs an airbox and a PCIII with a custom map (or a remapped chip) to get the best out of it. If you are near him go see Griff.

It is indeed the red one BF, i just wasn't expecting it as i hadn't seen it mentioned in all the bumph i've read over the last few weeks.

Seen as i got the bike at such a reasonable price the airbox mod and PC3 are realistic enough in the coming months. What i saved on purchase price is squirreled away in anticipation. Gotta go careful at the moment as my current contract expires end of March and i may need any spare cash for mundane things like food :thumbdown. Only problem is once you start looking at possible mods it never ends,

don't think i'll wait to get the stand sorted tho, that's first on the list with paddock stand bobbins second and Scott oiler third.

Gotta laugh, i've never done a track day before but after just one journey on the T i've sourced some leathers so it is now a possibility in the warmer/dryer weather.

As for visiting Griff, if i have learnt just one thing trawling Aprilia threads it is that Griff is THE man to go see.

So, are we talking Airbox mod first, then chip, then PC3? Plus which Airbox mod, seems to be a few out there. Which chip? There's definitely a few of those out there. More research is needed me thinks, plus this will give more time to save.

If you are thinking of chain oilers check out pro-oiler I've used them on about 6 bikes and you get good chain life (sold all bikes with original chains still on) but little fling off and the reservoir will carry about 5k miles worth. the guy who makes/sells them is called Pablo, top bloke and very helpful.

Top airbox would be the Renegade type, makes a better noise than the Evoluzione. Check to make sure you haven't got one already before you do anything. Griff stocks a Rene type airbox as made by Hooked (RSVZone & on Griffs forum), you really need to fit the PCIII or chip (one or the other not both) and get the map done at the same time or you may run lean.

no worries shvlheadwolf, i've been called far worse.

already have a Scottoiler hanging around BF so will go with that for starters. Got an Optimate on order at the moment so that'll be going on real soon, as much to keep the battery in good nick as to give me a power outlet to power my electrically challenged greedy *** phone.

I do have one question that i have seen discussed on the boards somewhere but haven't managed to find again.
When i went to pick up the bike they guy started it for a listen and it fired straight up away, button, no throttle and i think full choke. As he eased the choke off the bike stopped so he tried on the button again, this time with gas and it flooded real quick.
He tried a few more times but to no avail so his mechanic whipped the seat off and wired it to a starter to get a faster turn over, again on the button and again with throttle and with full choke. This time it fired up, and has fired up each time since may i add, but these have all been warm starts.

I'm sure i read, turn it on, listen for fuel pump, choke on full in the cold and hit the button no throttle. last thing i want is to be flooding it regularly and having to piss around in the mornings when i should be on my way to work.

Cheers

Ha, you think Falconistas fettle. T owners are just as bad eh !
Count the teeth on the sproks it their not marked and report back.
The Tuoldo starts the same as the Falco. Ignition on. Half fast start, for my bike, you hear a whir and a click. After the rev needle goes back to zero its ready to start. With a proper press not a quick one.
The first thing you need to buy is a trickle charger.

Shovel has some deep routed bike shame. That's why drinks like Aldo. I'll put evidence on later.

Jesus nob, you didn't tell me that you were stalking my photobucket account. Please don't tell me that you have been laying in bed late at night whilst perusing my chiseled features (well, as chiseled as the Pillsbury Doughboy gets...).

And no, smiffy, the Harley pic wasn't photchopped. My moniker derives from that shovelhead. And being a svelte 20 stone and 195 cm tall, even a big 1340cc shovel looks a tad diminutive under my large arse. There are shots of me and my beloved Andiamo as well. she is aboot hip high to me. Unlike some of the little turds (nob) that can barely tippy toe when in the saddle and look like a wean when under steam... Surprised that nob din't show my snappy track leathers... Prolly cuz everyone here is soooo jealous.

gawd I hate hangovers

You know Shovel, thats why I love you. You don't take yourself seriously. :thumbup

Riding is supposed to be fun... And I was giggling the entire time that I was on that lil fiddy cc Honda Jazz. I let the owner take the T for a ride as she is a riding mate of the wife's and her other bike was a Honda Shadow. I didn't get her onto an Aprilia, She does now, however, own a late model Viffer. Welcome to the sport bike world lass!

And I found out loooong ago that taking myself seriously only made me look like a ******... So, here's to making other peeps smile. Did I make all y'all smile?
