Eprom chip

Hi, I've just fitted my 2005 gen 1 tuono with a Fuel GP F1 road can. It sounds great but idling about 1500 rpm. Ive been advised to fit an Eprom chip from Ed who in turn supply's aprilia performance. I'm a bit worried about messing with the ECU but Ed told its a simple procedure (not with my luck). Would it make a great difference to the bike as its still got standard air filter and cure the high idle?. I don't want to mod it too much.
Thanks guys
Craig

Plug and play mate, I got one from Griff when my Tuoldo got serviced. Makes a fair bit of a difference, sharpens the throttle response up

There is an idle screw KB, hope this works to cure the idle issues. Still worth doing the ECU mod though. Doesn't muck up mpg but helps the front tyre life

I've tried the idle wheel and the throttle cable to make sure it wasn't tight but turning the wheel anti clockwise didn't make any difference. Ill order the chip I think to at least sort the idle and throttle response especially as its cheap. From reading on here it looks like a very good mod. Lets hope it's easy to do without me ruining the ECU. Any tips on fitting and resealing or is it quite straightforward?
Thanks

Watched Lewis put it in mine and looked easy enough, just take your time and line the pins up correctly. After that open air box then nodded collector. The first mod though is the side stand mod if it isn't done already

Ill see how fitting the chip goes then look at the air box mod depending how it rides after. Which fireblade model do I need the stand from or what other model will fit.? I'm just in the process of lowering the footpegs a cpl of inches and made an adapter plate for the foot brake lever.

Eprom chip fitted this morning. With my luck I expected it not to start. Easy to fit and sorted the idling issue out straight away. Really impressed. Just need to giv it a spin to see if performance has improved. Just air box mod left. :)

Hi Rodders,
I believe it's an 07 Blade side stand there was a post on here with the Honda part number so try searching for that or just call your local Honda dealer

I've been trying to find 07 blade stand but does anyone know the correct yr/model for the blackbird stand. Seems to be more selection of those.

Fireblade stand 2004-2007.(The one with the underseat exhaust.)
Pretty sure Blackbird 1100XX stands are all the same.

Thanks Keith, gonna order one as there not too expensive compared to fixing it if it falls over.

Hi Rodders,
Apparently, if you use a BlackBird stand you need to drill a new hole for the locatinting pin as it is out of line but the Fireblade stand is (allegedly :) plug N play.
