Hey, sorry if this has been covered cant find it. Ive just tried starting bike and cant get any sign off life out of engine. I get the 'efi' display flashing.

The battery is fine as well,

Any ideas what this could be?

Many Thanks

adam - how you know the bike is fine ? there could be whats called surface charge in the battery ie it will power the dash but as soon as you start to crank / start the battery could drop to 3/4 volts

How do you mean 'Sign of life'?

Is it turning over but won't fire up?

Does it click when you press the starter button?

Etc....

Need loads more detail before I can even start to guess mate. :thumbup

The engine wont even try turn over.....just get a faint buzzz sound, the same noise when 1st turn ignition on for a second or two

I'll pop a volt meter on tomorrow and try turn it over see how the volts drop

surface charge adam - i can prob guess as soon as u press the starter button it will drop instantly to the 3/4's - i hope is just the battery - in my auto electical experience - it sounds like battery or bad earth

Agree with Killaprilia here, sounds like your batteries fooked mate. :thumbup

However, even with a spot on battery if your solenoid or starter is drawing excess current it would do this (Just click). My advice for what it's worth is to check the battery out (Load test it), if it's fooked then bin it and buy a new one cause if you don't then you'll need to be searching for 'sprag repair'. :roll

Ah Ok Guys thanks, im rubbish with the mechanicaly side so cheers, i'll check it out

Yep battery, even a heavily knackered battery can show 12 volts but it's the current it can push that cranks her over.
Good luck dude and get yourself an optimate and never park her up without it

alright guys, volts were floating at 11.5, tried cracnking it over and dropped down just under 11. Ive stuck it on a charger and see what we get.

There a clicking noise from the rear of the back is this normal?
