Engine oil

Hi, wondering if any of you can recommend a good engine oil for the V4r, what oil are you lot using? My oil is low so just going to change it, also, how much oil do these things use? Haven't done a huge mileage since I got it but it seems to burn a little, not concerning me but think i'll keep a closer eye on it from now on.

Hi, Last service mechanic said Aprilia only approve Eni or Motul & changed mine with Motul fully synthetic & charged £80 for the privilege.....as its under warranty I had no choice

Castrol power synthetic is what i use

My oil (Gen1) is blue, per the clear pipe. Anyone any idea what brand it might be?

It has stayed clean and blue coloured in the 2k miles clocked since I bought the bike in Jan, and level pretty much static.

Of course, newer engines can burn oil quicker, until engine fully beds in... same for cars and bikes.

I have always used Motul 300v since I got the bike, but the last change (last week) I used Rockoil Synthesis which is also fully synthetic.

Sounds like a Putoline oil ?

I only use Motorex oil for my bikes.
For the V4 it is the power synth 5w/40

Was looking at the silkolene pro4 5w-40 fully synthetic, but think I'll look up all your suggestions first, cheers guys

i changed mine at 3000 miles and put in motul 300 5v 40 but on 6000 service the dealer used putoline nanotech 5w40

Only oil I can find locally is Castrol super bike fully synthetic 5w-40 competition 4 stroke motorcycle oil, any use?
