engine oil tank

**** just found out engine oil tank is dented pretty bad and oil level marker showing min oil level am I in trouble can anyone tell me.
Are the engine oil tanks replaceable.If I top up will I be OK. Anyone had this problem before.

Your oil needs to be checked right after a run, if you check it cold the level will read minimum. It's a dry sump thing! Yes the tank is replaceable there's always a few on eBay.

Here's a trick I use for checking the oil level.

Start the bike up (on side stand or paddock stand it doesn't matter) , let it get warm/hot enough for the fans to cut in twice (no more), turn the engine off and hold the bike upright, check oil level , it should be between the min and max markers, if not top up in little amounts.

As Scott said check the oil when the bike is warm. The oil tank can be replaced no problem, what year is the bike? I have got both second hand if you need one.
