Engine cut out at low temp

Over the past couple of weeks of ownership of my first Ape (love that name, which I learnt on here BTW :rotfl) she has cut out on me 4 or 5 times before getting up to temp. Starts on the button no prob, but it happened twice tonight on my run from work. Is this normal or do I need the valves adjusting or filter changing or is a sensor or something. If it was winter and really cold I could understand this, but it was really warm today :dunno
thanks

I'm afraid this probs wont help, i've had my ape around a week, and i've had the same happen to me. So maybe its normal? By the way, of you already haven't and its pre 2004, i'd def recommend the clutch jet mod!

Ta,

Anton

clutch jet mod is for all pre 06

04 on bikes initially had stalling problems due to a poor map which Aprilia improved with time. 04 bikes should now be on the 05 map which cured a lot of the surging/stalling issues.
Other thing to look at is the battery volts on the display at idle as there is a wiring issue that can appear and often the first sign is stalls at low speed. Dash voltage should be into the 13's at idle ideally.

On the early RSV's poorly balanced throttle bodies and incorrect CO set up can cause stalling.

Get your CO checked and throttle bodies set up and all will be well.

Brill, cheers lads, can always get the answers on here! How much would I be looking at to balance the throttle bodies and check/adjust CO?

Dunno mate but if you want perfection then PM Fusebox (Griff) he's the only one I'd let touch my bike. :doug

Tamworth (Midlands) but he tours the country mate so drop him a PM, you never know he may be close to you next week or soon.
