Has your battery died mate?

Usually the first sign your battery is knackered is when the clocks start resetting.

i had my battery disconnected for a week and everything on my dash was reset - even my mileage reset to zero !

don't suppose anyone knows how to somehow get my original mileage back?

I have trickle charger from the Motrax catalogue. It's still boxed up and was thrown in by the dealer at my request. Do I just plug and go?

Dan, common fault on very early new model 2003.5 / 2004 RSVR's. Most dash's were replaced under warranty if the mileage reset to 0. Unfortunately there's nothing that can be done to reset the correct mileage

Stefano, you should keep the bike plugged in to an optimate type battery conditioner at all times when not in use to avoid any strarting and sprag clutch issues

I think I will. My OH will not appreciate having her tumble drier unplugged.....

That's spooky, my Optimate used to live in the same plug hole as the wifey's tumble drier.

I fitted a double socket to avoid disappointment, a few times I had gone to take the bike out only to find my battery flat as fook and the Optimate unplugged with the tumble drier left on stand by.

Damn women.!!!!

What the hell is a "tumble drier"? Do you mean to dry your clothes? So you are telling me that you do your laundry in the garage? No wonder we wanted our independence! Ha Ha! Anyway, possibly an unorthodox question here but here I go. I had a solid 2 1/2 season run of starting relating electrical gremlins before I got it sorted and now it's perfect. Dash never resets, barely needs choking, etc. The clocks and such used to reset all the time but never the actual odometer. I intend to be buried with this bitch along side me so it's not to defraud anyone. I would just like to cause it to reset so my pals will quit f'n with me that she's old, slower, and not worth as much because of the miles. I figure that soon enough after resetting to zero, I will run her back to a believable numb, right?

I have managed to work my Optimizer, but only the green light lights up. Is that correct?

Sorry to keep pestering you all, but my capacity in electronics is limited to program the VCR, yes, the old tape thingy.....

SO if I pull my batt for the winter instead of leaving it in the bike with a Battery Tender then come spring, I should read zero on my odometer? And I still wanna know what a "tumble drier" is.
