I've put about 6000kms on my 07 rsv1000r so far. Today after about 2 minutes of riding all 3 lights appear. I turned off bike for fear of dammage and loaded onto my truck to bring to aprilia dealer for tomorrow. Any ideas what could have caused this. Changed oil/filter @ 1000kms & 5000kms. Could this be a problem relating to the brown connector? Also, clutch fluid is looking a little on the dark side. Is the best fix for this to replace master cylinder with evolutione type or just replace fluid often?
Thx for any advice!

O.k. I've searched over this forum and it appears oil pressure switch, defective oil pump, or brown connectors may be the problem. Any other ideas?

i willin to bet that its just the oil pressure switch causing the problem!! not expensive buddy and an easy fix!
stay in touch let us know how you get on!!
griffer!

Well I brought my rsv1000r to the dealer today. Turns out its the oil pump. They're going to replace it under warranty. While i was there the mechanic started it. With the bike being cold no lights came on. After a few minutes and warming up at idle all 3 came on. A slight turn of the throttle and the lights go out only like 300rpm increase. Interesting how a throttle adjustment can cure things. I'm told gauges aren't very accurate and that idle adjustment is part of maintenance and not covered under warranty. hmmmm, 6000kms....and this? Anyway bike was hooked up to a scanner axone or somesort I'm told and the conclusion is needs new oil pump! Should be back on the rd later on this week.

hmmmm
id love to know how they can tell the oil pump buggered by pluggin in the axone.....still as long as the bikes fixed!

good to hear a happy ending!

I'm just going by what they told me. Last night I viewed the link to see what was involved in replacing the oil pump. Looks like a lot of parts have to come off even to access it. Anyway today when i called to see its progress i was told there was a spring that was sticking allowing the oil pump not too function properly. Hmmmmm? I dont recall there being any spring but who am i to question. Anyway i just want my bike fixed properly and want these type of problems to go away.
To date issues have been,
missing swing arm locknut
Missing or vibrated loose various exhaust shield bolts, fairing bolts
Starter relay
This issue of the oil pump.
Dark clutch fluid
Rear brake master cylinder having to be rebuilt (so they say) and bled
one time occurance where engine speedo went wack while on hwy?

Only 6000kms and all this, Do i have a lemon or is this common to all? 2007rsv1000r
