Nipped out at lunch time today to collect a parcel and on route I noticed the small red triangle on the rev counter had come on. I also noticed the EFI had come up on the dash. I pulled over but couldn’t see anything obvious. Carried on and they came and went in no particular order!!
On my way home they came on three times on a 15mile journey but didn’t stay on for long.
I would say there was no noticeable change in performance!!
Can anyone help as im worried that if I continue to use the bike I might cause damage!

sorry the bike is 2005 mille r

Mine used to come on my daytona 675 all the time. it was just the exhaust servo out of its parameters. but the ecu was clever and realligned itself. the engine usually goes into a limp mode if its serious. Should be a similar situation of the RSV also.

So after a bit of research would I be right in saying I need to go to a dealer and get plugged in to a Axone diagnostic machine to tell me my fault code??

Ultimatly yes. as I'm still new to the rsv I don't know whether it displays a fault code which you can then cross reference with a technical manual. This would give you an understanding as to what is wrong, it's just rectifing it after that could be the prob! and as you know there are certain checks that the ecu does so it may mean you have to access the ecu to put them right. My old bike should have been 1 hours labour -£50 thats at a main dealer to get put on a diagnostic machine and sort out the faults (was a warrenty job though).

thats what i thought, going to book it in this weekend and get it checked out.
fingers crossed got the nw200 in a few weeks so need to get it sorted.

Usualy it helps if you check you wiring loom a bit and rearange the cables so that noone makes a sharp turn. Like a said "usualy" there is no problem at all, just cheap wires making bad turns, so first check this, but it could also happen that something has gone puf :)

mine did it 05 rsvr and it was the oil preasure switch bottom right of engine £7 from dealer fit it your self . these are a common fault and worth doing first at 7 quid . mine also went into limp mode sometimes and then it was fine .

right hand fairing off then 2 mins of a job:thumbup

also lift your tank and unplug al the electrical connectors one at a time and spray em with contact cleaner and re plug em . it will be nothin mate so dont worry
