The 03Rs / Edwards have a close ratio gearbox so 16/44 will have the bike reving higher in top gear , I use 16/43 for Drag racing & it does 245k topped out . The early 99/2000 have a wide ratio & can run the 16/44 without to much trouble .. Lower gearing does make the bike much more responsive off throttle but you do loose out abit on the lower torque which is really why most buy V-Twins ......
