Edwards rep??

Hi fellas,
need a bit of help or info really, I've just my deposit down on an rsv factory from DK motorcycles, before anyone says anything though I have used them before and they were fine. I couldn't get the pic off there website to put on here but its in the used bike sect. under Aprilia rsvr factory.
Any the question is the fella I spoke on the phone said it was an Edwards rep, it's a 53 plate, but it is the 04 model with the new front, I didnt know they did this model, did they make this model:confused. I'm still going to buy the bike non the less but just wondered if any of you guys could have a look and let me know, the thing I wasn't sure about are the cans as I thought they were supposed to be Akrapovics?? Thanks for the help
Nelly

The RSVR's were released in sept 03 thats why it's on a 53 plate as to the akrapovic's this underneath is what was released at the time of launch.I know the earlier version mille come with akrapovic's but I don't know for definate about the RSVR I'm sure someone on here will put things right.
Power: Unfortunately, this limited-edition machine is a race replica in graphics only: the mechanicals are based on the RSV Mille R V-twin sportbike, not Edwards's three-cylinder "Cube" MotoGP racer. The 60-degree V-twin remains intact, including the PPC slipper-clutch system to reduce rear wheel hop on decel, and also the double-balancing countershaft that quells vibes. Special bits exclusive to the Edwards rep include an SBK Superbike exhaust system designed jointly by Akrapovic and Aprilia Racing and a new-for-the-U.S. market 57mm throttle body kit and carbon-fiber racing airbox. Together these performance upgrades boost output to commanding 147 hp, up from the stock R's 130 hp rating. And it should go without saying that the Edwards-rep's valves are controlled with steel springs, not the Cube's pneumatic gadgets.

Cheers Sharky, I just wasn't sure with the new shape, like I said I thought the edwards rep was the old shape, the other thing as well is that there are no decals on the bike?? I wish I could put a pic of it on here so you could all see. The paint work does look different but nothing like the reps I've seen on the forum??

The "real" Edwards rep is a 2003 model like this:

That Colin Edwards rep on ebay is lovely i have to say.

Nelly, i wouldn't buy a bike from D&K motorcycles if they begged me to. Total bunch of cowboys. As for the 03 Factory you are looking at there, that is about £1200 too much. I'd certainly also very carefully check that mileage too as the very early new model bikes suffered from the mileometer resetting when the battery was disconnected ( They only do it once though ).

You can get a brand new 2007 model RSVR with free Akrapovic cans from TAZ motorcylces for not much more.

Have a shop around fella, that is one very very expensive factory

Nice set of wheels

As to buying from DK I've also bought 2 bikes from them and they have looked after me very well. They have also done a couple of services for me as well and everything has been done that they said would and I asked. I marked various bits to make sure :devious

I know a lot of guys have had problems, perhaps I've just been lucky.

Cheers lads, I know it's pricey but I've had problems with finance, and dk were the only people that would help me out. I didn't think it was an edwards rep though so thanks for confirming it.:thumbup

dont buy that factory from dk mate if you come to lincoln for the day our kawasaki dealership has a 04 factory for £5999 with 2000 miles on the clock and they use black horse finance ( the same as DK)

DK have had to go through their own in house finance, Black Horse wouldn't even do it. This is what happens when you go away and come back to find the wife has missed mortgage and secured loan payments, gutted:angry

What time you looking at picking it up? Also does any one know if snake pass is open yet?

It should be prety early mate, I'll confirm by text nookie on Sunday, I will probably be leaving our house at about 0800hrs but I have to confirm with dk on saturday that the bike will be ready. So I'll speak to you sunday mate, plus I dont know wether I want to go down the snake on the way back, I will of only had the bike an hour:dunno. But saying that it will be the only time you get to lead :whipping lol
